{Book Giveaway} "A book is a magical thing that lets you travel to far-away places without ever leaving your chair."
Now that we can't go overseas, that does not mean we stop exploring. To us, one of the best ways to learn and see more of the world is through reading. I had the chance to visit Tokyo on my company incentive trip (that was more than 13 years ago before I switched to being a stay-home mum) before the kids came along and up till now, it is still one of my favourite cities and I earnestly hope to bring the family there someday.
Written by our well-loved local author Emily Lim, Marky Polo in Tokyo tells the tale of a pangolin who is travelling overseas for the first time. At the airport, his luggage was taken up by another traveller and in order to retrieve it, he and his cousin had to pass through many famous places in Tokyo.
They include the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Skytree, streets of Harajuku, Shibuya crossing and the Samurai Museum. It is a colourful and interesting way to let the kids learn more about these famous attractions and there are even fun facts about animals native to Japan, for instance the amami rabbit, red-crowned crane and Akita-inu.
The book also lets readers have an Augmented Reality experience simply by downloading an app and scanning the pangolin icon when it appears on the page. We can't wait to see where Marky will go next on his exciting travels!
Giveaway! I am giving away TWO copies of this educational, enriching and beautifully illustrated book to you. To join,
1) Follow A Happy Mum.
2) Like and share this post.
3) Comment on why you would like to win and tag your friends, one in each comment. Each counts as an entry.
This giveaway ends on 15 Jun 2359hrs. One winner will be chosen from FB and the other from IG, so hop over for more chances to win. This giveaway is not endorsed by or affiliated with FB or IG. Good luck!

2020 ZA Share International EXPO of Educational Alternatives and Innovations
from 12 pm November 21 to 12 pm November 22 (GMT+8), completely online for 24-hours! I couldn't be more excited to invite you to join!
here is the EXPO entrance link: http://zashare2020.org
.
----------------------------------
This year, there will be three main tracks happening simultaneously at the ZA Share Expo:
1. EXPO Website as RPG
First, the main Exhibition Website will be a website-based role-playing game, which will be as easy to access as any website. If you visit the Exhibition, you will become a lost Star Wanderer that collided on planet Earth in ZA Share Era VI and embark on a journey to find your way back to your own orbit. During this journey, you have to visit different space stations (learn from different exhibitors) to collect the required materials to fly back to your orbit!
2. 24hr Non-Stop Online TV Channel
Second, there will be a video channel that plays various programs 24-hour non-stop, just like any other TV channel! On the video channel, you'll see reality shows featuring alternative learning opportunities, such as farming and airplane-flying; talk shows with celebrities, politicians, and academics in Taiwan on transforming education in different sectors; and the Taiwan International Education Summit (TIES), which will be featuring education pioneers from Japan, Korea, India to the United States on Towards an Anti-Fragile Paradigm in Education: Shifting from the focus from EE (Effectiveness & Efficiency) to RR (Resilience & Robustness) .
3. Virtual Lounge -- Host or Join Open Spaces for Free!
Third, to foster spontaneous co-learning, networking, and joy, everyone is welcomed to host an Open Space in whatever format, and the registration form and Realtime Bulletin Board is already live! Why not join the play with friends around the world?
At ZA Share, we strive to facilitate meaningful connections between our exhibitors and our visitors. A large portion of them are young adults aged 18 to 30 and young teachers and parents aged 30 to 45. Many are unsatisfied with education's status quo, so attend our expo to be inspired, explore the other possibilities to learning, and find out actions they can take to make a difference.
With a considerable community size from the bottom-up, our expo also served as a platform to bridge civic action with government-industry-academia collaboration. Aestheticell, for example, is a civic project founded by a group of then-college students. When they first showcased their dream to bring aesthetics to Taiwanese textbooks at ZA Share 2016, they received the support to make their dream a reality -- Their designs were eventually accepted and published by major textbook publishers across the country, later even received a national design award.
We believe that to change society, participation in social change has to become a "trend." Fortunately, with the joint effort with all of our partners and community members, the number of Taiwanese students pursuing alternative or innovative forms of accredited education (i.e., Experimental Education, as defined by the Taiwan government) has five folded in the previous five years!
If you also want to make educational alternatives and innovations more widely acceptable and accessible, why don't you join us to have fun together and spread the word? AERO members such as North Star, Agile Learning Centers, and Sri Aria are all exhibiting at the ZA Share Expo this year!
EXPO SUMMIT HOST AN OPEN SPACE
Again, we deeply appreciate your effort in making a different kind of education possible. We genuinely hope to see you at the ZA Share Global PopUp School!
Sincerely,
Ozzie Su

Both Meat Main Courses were "exorbitantly impressive". If I came back in quick succession again & was forced to pick, it'll be the Lamb 1st 🐑 However if this was my last supper I will pick the Miyazaki Wagyu Sirloin. I actually have no dilemma picking one for each occasion, may be it's because they were so distinctive anyway, let me explain:
•
✴️Agneau de l'Aveyron 🇫🇷 Young Lamb rack of Lacaune breed, is served with Alpine Garlic 高山ニンニク, Cardamom, Chanterelle mushrooms, Puree, Burnt Leek Powder & Australian Winter Truffle. The mild yet milky tasting, tender Lamb is ethereal & all in perfect equilibrium, with a tinge of nutty gingery caramel zing. In HK, I have only had such mesmerizing Lamb at Bombana's 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo before, also a while ago when Harlan still cooked at GOLD. And even then, this pure taste was highly expressive of its terroir. I have had enough Aveyron or Pyrenees Lamb before to gauge that this was one of those extraordinaries.. 🤔
_
✴️𝘔𝘪𝘺𝘢𝘻𝘢𝘬𝘪 𝘞𝘢𝘨𝘺𝘶 𝘚𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘰𝘪𝘯 🇯🇵 with Mussel & Red Paprika, Okahijiki Beef Jus & a shave of Truffle. Was so good it can make one cry. When every restaurant is selling a Wagyu Beef nowadays, we tend to forget that the best pieces carry such a sophisticated Wagyu monounsaturated fat profile, Meatiness, the flavors still evolving & further developing whilst lingering on your palate like a top vintage Grand Cru Burgundy that doesn't want to dissipate. The long finish is not even believable anymore these days as we have become complacent with too many Wagyu offerings which are already good but this was just something else! The last time I had this quality and wasn't willing to swallow each bite, was at Arbor twice, and also at Whisk in Mira, or say at Nikushou when I was served a great muscle.
_
As to why I would pick the Lamb over Wagyu for my next visit? It is because somehow the Lamb recipe & taste here was totally unique, and in my memory bank never replicated before... The Wagyu was also a top 2% performance, but on a lucky day you might still experience one in HK or Japan. There is almost nothing between them though..! 💭💭❤️

Tsar, Hello, everyone
Today I will show u the longest shopping street in Japan, the Tenjinbashisuji shopping street in Osaka
The total length of Nathan Road in HK is 3.6 km, here the length from section 1 to7 is 2.6 km
相等於三分之二的彌敦道那麼長啦, 來這裏吃、買、玩交通相當方便 which is 2/3 long of Nathan Rd, is quite convenient to come eat, buy, and play for transportation
Because there are 3 subway stations are crossed from Tenjin sections 1 to 7
U to 800 shops including restaurants, cosmeceuticals n clothes,
Groceries, traditional old shops n izakaya, etc.U name it,
What most important is the food and drink here is charged very low!
If your itinerary is not so long in Osaka, I suggest you come here
It satisfies your 3 wishes in one go, n enjoy the true pleasure of traveling to Osaka at the most affordable price and most concentrated time
I captured a photo for budget hotels nearby
Around 3 to 400hkd per night for the price at this period
For your next visit to Osaka, if u don't want to live in a noisy area like Shinsaibashi or Umeda................
U can enjoy the civilian lifestyle of Osaka locals
Since this street is too long, I will introduce only sections 2 chome and 3 today
The length is equal to the distance from Admiralty to mid Wanchai
I will focus on recommending some places worth eating, buying n playing ..
They have free speedy wi-fi Internet access
Are u ready? U can selfie n share with friends along. Are u ready?
When u come to section 2, u shouldn't miss this long queue store
It is the famous croquette,
The freshly fried croquette, golden crispy on the outside and soft on the inside n fragrant,
Known as the best croquette in Osaka!
It scored 3.53 in an authoritative food webpage in Japan called Tabelog
Usually it's already delicious if you hit 3.4 points, so you can imagine
Why is Tabelog's credibility so high?
Because Tabelog's income does not come from restaurant advertisements,
It comes from value-added services to users.
.............
The udon here are famous for being smooth n chewy.
Deep-fried dried fish can add a flavor to the udon
What are they searching? Maybe searching for their idols in their childhood
CD只賣200yen(14hkd)一隻, 可能有啲是絕版呢 The CD only sells 200yen (14hkd), maybe some are out-of-print
There are several barber shops here, I suggest bros to try
Do u know why there is a tri-color column in front of barber shops all over the world?
In 1789, the French Revolution broke out and a revolutionary leader was pursued
He hid into a barber shop, the employees in the shop successfully got rid of his enemy for this leader
After the victory of the French Revolution, in order to praise this barber shop worker for his contribution and support
The leader put a glass column in front of the barber shop
It is filled with red, white and blue in column that symbolize the French flag and keeps turning
Since then, barber shops around the world have installed this three-color column
As a decoration to attract customers, it has been used until today
The steak meal here is 800 yen, Tabalog 3.28 is rated
This taiyaki sea bream cake chain shop is a must to come.
The outer layer is made of top-grade wheat, super crispy
The out layer is thin and fragrant, filled with Hokkaido Tokachi red beans, Uji Jinshi sweet potatoes,
There are also red bean and sweet potato ice cream sandwiches, which are well-known in Japan w/many branches.

Tsar, Hello,everyone
Endo Sushi Today I will show you to a hidden century-old sushi restaurant in Osaka, Endo Sushi
Tourists will go to Kuromon Market, locals know how to go to Kizu Ichiba Market
With the Osaka Municipal Wholesale Market
Endo Sushi In addition to a hidden century-old sushi restaurant Endo Sushi
If you want to buy cheap and good beef, you can find it here
This video is divided into three parts and introduces Endo Sushi ’s sushi set with low price.
The 2nd part will introduce the Japanese sushi types that I ordered on the menu
Although the location is not a tourist area, it is not too isolated
Its worth to come n the walls are full of Japanese celebrities signature
The high CP value n it is really worth for a visit
Are u ready? So the 3rd part will introduce the traffic to come here, Are u ready?
Endo Sushi has been in business for more than a century and has spread to the fourth generation since its opening in 1907.
The store is located right at the Osaka Central Fish Market, and the ingredients are of course really fresh!
Let's look at their menu. 1st choose the 4 OMAKASE courses,
There are 5 pieces of sushi (1,150 yen) per set, and 1 of the seasonal sets will be changed according to the time in season.
這個湯要另外叫的300yen(21HKD), 是否很足料呢! Made according to seasonal ingredients. This soup is costed 300yen (21HKD). Isn't it rich?
Anago、Uni、Tai、Toro、Hamachi I ordered this set with Anago, Uni, Tai, Toro n Hamachi。
Anago is saltwater eel, mostly used for sushi sashimi
Unagi It ’s only available in Japan. As for Unagi, it ’s freshwater eel usually for making of eel rice.
Other than Japan, Unagi will also come from Taiwan, China, South Korea n Vietnam
Uni is the sea urchin. The edible part is not their body, but the female or male gonad of the sea urchin.
There are many kinds of sea urchins, but there are only a few suitable for consumption
Among them, the Mesocentrotus franciscanus sea urchin, also known as the red sea urchin, is the most popular.
Because it has a bright golden yellow color, fine particles with thick and sweet taste
Another major edible sea urchin is the purple sea urchin, which is lighter in color and slightly larger in particle size.
The highest quality and fresh sea urchins should be well-defined, without bitterness and sweet in taste.
Why can this sushi restaurant stand for a hundred years reputation?
Because every sushi u eat here, the sweet and savory flavor can last for a minute into the mouth
The long after taste worth u to taste them slowly. With this low price, I think it is simply great value!
Tai is sea bream with celebration in Japanese are homophonic, so Japanese like to eat this fish when they are celebrating
Because it is a marine fish which consider expensive sushi n is known as the King of white fish
The meat is soft and tender, and there is not much fat. The technique of making sea bream sushi is to blanched the fish meat with hot water.
Then let the cold water softens the skin n the subcutaneous fat between the skin and the meat is boiled in warm water
.................
Remember to leave an emoji to show support after watching the video,
Help me CLS. With that said until next time, goodbye!

I'm Shizuka, the hot spring model. I usually work as a caregiver at a nursing home.I use my days off to visit my favorite mixed baths. It's a self-produced tour that doesn't generate income. I pay for all my hot spring visits and have been to 250 mixed hot springs across the country!
I've toured mixed baths around the country, and I have been making videos and blogs(Ameblo) of my experience and impressions of the hot springs.
I am always on the search for what suits me best. There is no good bath or bad bath, what suits you may change depending on you in that situation, and that's what I call a good bath (hot spring).

Taking a bath is a natural routine after "sleeping" and "eating" in Japanese people's minds. It's a routine task. In particular, soaking in a hot tub is a unique part of Japanese culture.
And that's why we have onsen in Japan.
Whether you like it or not, everyone goes on a trip to a hot spring resort at least once in their lives.
Onsen are a unique part of Japanese culture.
Some people are attracted by the smell of sulfur and others
taking a bath together with a large group of people and literally having "naked company" can make you feel like you've grown closer to your friends.
When you soak naked in a hot spring and let out a breath of air, you can talk about things you wouldn't normally talk about.
It takes the edge off! and is a stress relief!
Bathing in nature while bathing with negative ions in the air is more effective based on scientific evidence.
And a "hot water cure" used for medical treatment is another thing even though there is no medical evidence to support this, but the effects of hot springs on the human body are wonderful. There are diseases that cannot be cured by doctors, but if you are in a hot spring...
I am a hot spring YouTuber.
I love hot springs.
Why?
Because it is a place where I could take a relaxing bath with my favorite family.
It was a strange coincidence to take a bath in a mixed bathing hot spring.
Of course you feel the gaze of the opposite sex, and you may also feel the embarrassment.
I'm not saying that I don't want to be seen, but after all, hot springs are an important part of Japanese culture, and I think it's important to keep in mind the importance of good manners when taking a bath.
Taking a bath naked is something that Japanese people have been trained to do since they were children.
More and more mixed bathing hot springs are prohibiting bathing without clothing.
It is no longer possible to open a new mixed bathing facility in today's Japan. Therefore, I would like you all to protect and support the existing bathing facilities.I would be very happy if my videos gives reasons for this.
I hope that this will be one of the reasons why a girl who just loves hot springs will be able to experience the Japanese culture of hot springs.
